Selynda Vass
Selynda grew up in Oklahoma and attended Moore schools where she felt she had little talent apart from being the one her friends called for advice. Therefore, she pursued the idea of counseling and graduated Oklahoma Baptist University with BA in Family Psychology. Empolyment over the years includes, Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, OKDHS Education Specialist, National Resource Center for Youth Services (a division of OU), and Youth and Family Services.
Selynda is the wife of Curtis, and they have served in family and children’s ministry for over 15 years. Their homeschool journey with their three children began in 2006. Soon they will only have three dogs left at home to “school.”
Selynda is a speaker, an author, speech and debate coach, a certified resource parent trainer and youth life skills trainer. She has taught Sunday school classes in some form 5th through 9th grade for 20 years, and worked part time with former foster youth age 16-23 for 10 years. Please do not bring her chocolate. She is not a fan of that, but she is interested in most other types of cookies…like she is interested in a variety of types of people.
